Four-time defending champion Roger Federer defeated Rafael Nadal in the final, 7–6(9–7), 4–6, 7–6(7–3), 2–6, 6–2 to win the gentlemen's singles tennis title at the 2007 Wimbledon Championships. It was his Open Era record-equaling fifth consecutive Wimbledon title (tying Björn Borg), and his eleventh major title overall. It was the second of three consecutive years that Federer and Nadal would contest the Wimbledon final.
