The 2013–14 Los Angeles Kings season was the 47th season (46th season of play) for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise that was established on June 5, 1967. The team would advance to the 2014 Stanley Cup playoffs, where they in their first round series, beat the San Jose Sharks after being down three games to none, only the fourth such team to accomplish this feat in NHL history, and the second Stanley Cup winning team after the 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs to do so. The Kings would eventually advance the 2014 Stanley Cup Finals, where they defeated the New York Rangers in five games to win their second Stanley Cup in franchise history. As of today, this was the last time the Kings won a playoff series.
