The 2024–25 season was the 138th in the history of Manchester United, their 33rd season in the Premier League and their 50th consecutive and 100th overall season in the top flight of English football. The club participated in the Premier League, the FA Cup, the EFL Cup, the UEFA Europa League and the Community Shield. The season is the first full season since 2004–05 in which the Glazer family no longer controls the footballing operations of the club, having sold a 27.7% stake to Sir Jim Ratcliffe in February 2024.

Erik ten Hag began his third season as manager but was sacked in October after a poor start to the campaign. Assistant manager Ruud van Nistelrooy took interim charge until Ruben Amorim was appointed Head Coach on 11 November, following his departure from Sporting CP. The season proved to be a poor one for the Red Devils, as United finished in the bottom half of the league table for the first time since 1989–90, ending up 15th with just 42 points – their worst league finish since 1973–74, when the club was last relegated.

The club's FA Cup defence ended in the fifth round with a penalty shootout loss at home to Fulham, while Tottenham Hotspur defeated them 4–3 in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup. United were also beaten by Tottenham in the UEFA Europa League final, losing 1–0 in Bilbao – a result that ensured they failed to qualify for European football for the first time since the 2013–14 season. It was United's first season without a trophy since 2021–22.
