It was a 72-hole stroke play tournament played from June 13–16 on course number 2 of Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, North Carolina. It is the 1,000th USGA staged championship in the organization's history. Bryson DeChambeau won the tournament to claim his second U.S. Open title.
