The 2025–26 San Antonio Spurs season will be the 59th season of the franchise, its 50th in the National Basketball Association (NBA), and its 53rd in the San Antonio area. On May 2, 2025, Gregg Popovich stepped down as Spurs head coach after 29 seasons with the team. This season would officially become the first season for the franchise where they would not have Popovich be involved with coaching the team whatsoever since the 1995–96 season (the following season after that would see him begin his head coaching career with the Spurs after their prior coach, Bob Hill, got fired for Popovich after 18 games played into that injury plagued season). Assistant coach Mitch Johnson was named the head coach.
