The 2025 New York Mets season is the 64th season of the New York Mets in Major League Baseball, their 17th at Citi Field, and their fifth under majority owner Steve Cohen.
The team intends to retire the number 5 worn by former Mets captain and third baseman David Wright and induct him into the Mets Hall of Fame during a pre-game ceremony before the team takes on the Cincinnati Reds at Citi Field on July 19. Wright will become the 10th person to have his number retired by the Mets and the second, along with Tom Seaver, to enter the team's Hall of Fame on the same day.
