Achmad Amins (July 3, 1947 – January 9, 2017) was the 8th mayor of Samarinda who began governing in the period 2000–2005. Then he ran as mayor in the first regional elections held in Samarinda City and was elected for the second time on September 19 2005, and together with the vice mayor, Syaharie Jaang, was inaugurated by the Governor of East Kalimantan Suwarna Abdul Fatah on November 23 2005 at GOR Segiri, Samarinda.
