Acri (Calabrian: Eacri) is a city with 19,949 inhabitants, located in the northern part of the Calabria region in southern Italy. Acri was granted city status on 17 September 2001.
The etymology of the word Acri derives from the Greek word 'ακρα' (Akra), which means peak.
