Ahmad Umar Diri (born 1972), also known by the nom de guerre Abu Obaida al-Somali, is a Somali militant who is serving as the third and current emir of the Islamist militant group al-Shabaab since 2014.
Diri became head of the organization following the death of Emir Ahmed Godane in 2014. In 2022, the U.S. State Department designated him a terrorist.
