AirWatch was an Atlanta-based provider of enterprise mobility management (EMM) software and standalone management systems for content, applications and email. AirWatch was acquired by VMware, Inc. in February 2014.
AirWatch was originally the name of both the company and the product. The product name was initially retained after being acquired by VMware, but in 2018 was rebranded to Workspace ONE Unified Endpoint Management (UEM).
The subsequent acquisition of VMWare by Broadcom in November 2023 resulted in the sale to KKR of the End User Computing business unit, which was renamed to Omnissa. The sale closed in the US and Ireland in July 2024.
