Alec Brown is a British Labour Party politician who has served as the leader of Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council since May 2023.
Brown has been a Councillor since 2015, first elected in the 2015 Redcar & Cleveland Elections for the Dormanstown Ward, but ran in Kirkletham in 2023. He was elected as the leader of the Labour group on the Council in 2021. Following the 2023 elections, Brown took over the council, leading a Labour minority on the council.
