Alvean is a sugar trading firm. As of 2023, it was the largest sugar trading firm in the world, and in 2021 Reuters reported that the firm was responsible for 20% of the sugar trade.
Alvean was created through a joint venture between Brazilian firm Copersucar and American firm Cargill. Cargill sold its stake in Alvean to Copersucar in 2021.
Mauro Angelo became CEO of the firm in July 2023, replacing Paulo Roberto de Souza.
