Antonio Merlo is an Italian-born American economist and academic. He currently serves as the Anne and Joel Ehrenkranz Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Science at New York University. On January 31, 2025, officials at Drexel University announced that Merlo had been selected to be that institution's sixteenth President, effective July 1, 2025.
