Apsana Begum (born 25 May 1990) is a British politician who has been Member of Parliament (MP) for Poplar and Limehouse in east London since 2019. Elected as a member of the Labour Party, Begum had the party whip withdrawn for six months on 23 July 2024 after she voted for an amendment to scrap the two-child benefit cap.
Begum is a member of the left-wing Socialist Campaign Group of MPs. She is the UK's first MP to wear a hijab and is a member of Labour Friends of Palestine and the Middle East.
