Benipur Assembly constituency is an assembly constituency in Darbhanga district of Bihar, India. It is 30 km east from Darbhanga city. SH 56 connecting Benipur to Darbhanga City. Neighboring villages are Mahinam, Balha, Benipur, Karhari, Nandapatti, phohddi, Ashapur. Makrampur has a popular Lord Hanuman Temple and there is a famous Nawada Durga Temple both are two of the famous temples of Benipur block. There is a railway station named "Benipur Balha" which is in Balha Village. Benipur Block is heart of benipur because of its popularity for its market. This block is second most big market in 20 square km area. Bahera market is one of the big market areas very adjacent to Benipur. The current mayor is Surendra Kumar Jha, and the current deputy mayor is Zafiruddn Khan. Benipur assembly and its surrounding areas are dominated by Brahmin voters. This is why most of the time MLAs from Brahmin caste have been elected from here, here all the parties mostly give tickets to Brahmin candidates for Brahmin votes.
