Callechelys springeri, the ridgefin eel, is an eel in the family Ophichthidae (worm/snake eels). It was described by Isaac Ginsburg in 1951, originally under the genus Gordiichthys. It is a marine, tropical eel which is known from the eastern Gulf of Mexico, in the western Atlantic Ocean. It dwells at a depth range of 22 to 36 metres (72 to 118 ft). Males can reach a maximum total length of 80.1 centimeters (31.5 in).
