Carl Dentzel

Carl Schaefer Dentzel (March 20, 1913 – August 21, 1980) was an American historian, preservationist, and museum director known for his contributions to cultural heritage and historic preservation in Los Angeles. As the director of the Southwest Museum for 25 years, he expanded its scope to include a comprehensive representation of Indigenous cultures across the Americas and the Hispanic Southwest.
