Changsari is a village in the Kamrup district of Assam, situated on the north bank of the Brahmaputra River. The name Changsari is derived from the Tai-Ahom words meaning chang (expert), sa (good) and ri (make), that is, an expert who makes an ill person well. It is a coincidence that the AIIMS is located here. In the Ahom era, it was a village of doctors; Changkakati and Baruah.
