Ciglane

Ciglane is a neighborhood in Sarajevo, one of the 15 neighborhoods in the Municipality of Centar Sarajevo. It was constructed on the hill Crni Vrh during the 1970s. Known for its brutalist design, it stands out from surrounding areas. It is also the only neighborhood in the city with its own lift, called the Kosi Lift. Ciglane is noted for its high crime rate, mostly involving petty theft, making it unsafe at night. The name "Ciglane" comes from the German word for brick, "Die Ziegel".
