David N. Chartrand, OM (born January 23, 1960) is a Canadian Métis politician and activist. He has served as the elected President of the Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) since 1997, making him the longest-serving president in the federation's history. He is currently serving an eighth term following the 2022 election. From 1997 to 2021, he was also a member of the Board of Governors of the Métis National Council. The MMF withdrew from the Métis National Council in 2021, citing concerns that the nationally accepted definition of Métis was being distorted by member organizations.
