David Taylor (born 25 August 1965) is a retired Welsh footballer and current manager. A former forward, he achieved the feat of scoring the most goals in European football leagues during the 1993–94 season with Porthmadog (he received a golden boot trophy from sponsors Adidas, though it is not counted in the official European Golden Shoe listings due to the award being suspended by organisers at the time).
After he retired from football, Taylor established a career in insurance as a senior claims advisor for Towergate Insurance. In 2023, he retired and now spends his time following his beloved Bolton Wanderers. He also does a lot for his local community in Bolton and is regularly found playing the role of Father Christmas during the festive period.
