Denmark and Norway are closely entwined having strong connections in society, economy, and culture. Both countries were part of the Kalmar Union between 1397 and 1523, and the two countries were in a personal union with each other from 1537 to 1814.
The two countries established diplomatic relations on 7 November 1905. Denmark has an embassy in Oslo, while Norway has an embassy in Copenhagen.
