However, ABC reversed its decision and canceled the series on May 29, 2018, when Barr was fired from the show after she posted a controversial tweet about former Obama-administration Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett. As of May 22, 2018, 231 episodes of Roseanne have aired, concluding the tenth season.

On June 21, 2018, the show was revived as a spin-off entitled The Conners, which has the same cast as Roseanne after her character dies of a opioid overdose. The show premiered on October 16, 2018, and aired all of its episodes on ABC, with the final episode airing on April 23, 2025.
