Echternach (German pronunciation: [ˈɛçtɐˌnax], French pronunciation: [ɛʃtəʁnax]; Luxembourgish: Iechternach [ˈi̯əɕtɐnɑχ] ⓘ or locally Eechternoach) is a commune with town status in the canton of Echternach, in eastern Luxembourg. Echternach lies near the border with Germany, and is the oldest town in Luxembourg.
