Firefight is a 1986 American short film directed by Sheldon Lettich set during the Vietnam War. Lettich was a Vietnam veteran and based the film on his experiences. Lettich originally wrote the story as a stage play Tracers (which had eight authors).
The movie was shot in 1983 over two long weekends at the Marine Corps Base at Camp Pendleton, California. Post production took several years due to lack of funds. However it was a success and launched his filmmaking career.
