Gentner Frederick Drummond (born October 1, 1963) is an American attorney, rancher, Air Force veteran, and politician serving as the 20th attorney general of Oklahoma. A member of the Republican Party, he is a candidate for governor in the 2026 election.
Born into the prominent Drummond family in Stillwater, Oklahoma, Drummond graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1985, joining the United States Air Force that same year. He deployed to Iraq during the Gulf War, taking part in the Gulf War air campaign, and retiring with the rank of Captain. While working as a staffer for U.S. senator David Boren, Drummond earned his JD from Georgetown University Law Center in 1995. After returning to Oklahoma, Drummond worked for a local law firm and served as an assistant district attorney in Pawnee and Osage Counties. He later founded Drummond Law and became the principal owner of Blue Sky Bank and Drummond Communications. He also owns and operates a 25,000-acre ranch.
Drummond was elected in 2022, after defeating incumbent John M. O'Connor in a close Republican primary and Libertarian nominee Lynda Steele in the general election with 74% of the vote. While in office, he has opposed public funding for religious charter schools and environmental regulations, while supporting capital punishment. On January 13, 2025, Drummond announced he wouldn't seek re-election and launched a 2026 campaign for governor at a rally in Pawhuska, Oklahoma.
