Good Deeds and Dirty Rags is the debut album by the Scottish rock band Goodbye Mr Mackenzie, released on 10 April 1989 by Capital Records. Following single releases on independent record labels, the band signed with Capitol and released their first major label single release "Goodbye Mr. Mackenzie" in August 1988 as the lead single from the album. Further singles – "Open Your Arms" and a re–release of "The Rattler" proved commercially successful for the band in the United Kingdom, whilst the album debuted at number twenty-six in the United Kingdom.
After facing some difficulty to obtain the rights to re–issue the album, it was re–released in 2019 to celebrate thirty years since its initial release, with the band beginning a tour to commemorate the albums release.
