Gordon J. Linton (born March 26, 1948), a transportation innovator, was nominated by President Bill Clinton, confirmed by the United States Senate and appointed Administrator of the Federal Transit Administration in the U. S. Department of Transportation on August 6, 1993 where he served until 1999. Linton also served as a legislator in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1982-1993 representing the 200th Legislative District in Philadelphia. A dedicated public servant, Linton’s accomplished career in public policy includes developing and implementing transformational initiatives that empowered under-served individuals and communities.
