Hồng Ngự is a rural district of Đồng Tháp province in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam. As of 2009 the district had a population of 150,050. The district covers an area of 209.74 km2 (80.98 sq mi). The district capital lies at Thường Thới Tiền.
On December 23, 2008, Hồng Ngự township, the communes of An Bình A, An Bình B, Bình Thạnh, Tân Hội and a portion of Thường Lạc commune were separated from the district to form the new district-level town of Hồng Ngự.
