HP Essential is a trademark name used by HP Inc. (formerly Hewlett-Packard) to denote their own line of entry-level, inexpensive laptops produced since 2009. Products under the "Essential" moniker include the HP Laptop series and HP Notebook series, as well as products simply branded as "HP". A similar line called HP Stream consisted of low-end consumer-oriented laptops and tablets. All HP Essential products use the Microsoft Windows operating system.
The HP Essential line is slowly being phased out in favor of the revived OmniBook brand of laptops, due to a corporate streamlining of products that happened in 2024.
