Henry Lawrence (President of the Council)

Henry Lawrence (1600–1664) was an English Puritan Baptist statesman and writer. He was Lord President of the Council of State under Oliver Cromwell from 1654 until 1659. Lawrence played a significant role in the governance of England during the Interregnum and was elevated to Cromwell's House of Lords in 1657. He also published three theological treatises, two on the doctrine of baptism and one on angels.
