Heroica Nogales (Spanish pronunciation: [eˈɾoj.ka noˈɣa.les]), more commonly known as Nogales, is a city and the county seat of the Municipality of Nogales in the Mexican state of Sonora. It is located in the north of the state across the U.S.-Mexico border, and is abutted on its north by the city of Nogales, Arizona.
The name Nogales is the Spanish term for "walnut trees." The municipality had a population of 264,782 as of the 2020 census.
