Hilary Richard Wright Johnson (June 1, 1837 – 1901) served as the 11th president of Liberia from 1884 to 1892. He was elected four times. He was the first Liberian president to be born in Africa. He had served three times as Secretary of State and once as Secretary of the Interior prior to becoming president.
