Himeji (姫路市, Himeji-shi, Japanese pronunciation: [çi.me.(d)ʑi, çi.me.(d)ʑiꜜ.ɕi]) is a city located in Hyōgo Prefecture in the Kansai region of Japan. As of 1 June 2022, the city had an estimated population of 525,682 in 227,099 households and a population density of 980 persons per km2. The total area of the city is 534.35 square kilometres (206.31 sq mi).
