Honored Coach of Russia

Honored Coach of Russia is an honorary sports title awarded in the Russian Federation to coaches who have made significant contributions to the development of sports and have achieved outstanding results with their athletes at the national and international level.

The title is a successor to the Soviet-era honor Honored Coach of the USSR, which was established in 1956. Similar titles also existed in the union republics and other socialist countries, and some remain in use today. For example, Bulgaria and Poland have preserved such honors in their own sports systems.
