Islay (/ˈli/) is a hamlet in central Alberta, Canada within the County of Vermilion River. Previously an incorporated municipality, Islay dissolved from village status on March 15, 1944, to become part of the Municipal District of Vermilion Valley No. 482. The community was named after Islay, in Scotland, the ancestral home of pioneer settlers.

Islay is located 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) north of Highway 16, approximately 36 kilometres (22 mi) west of Lloydminster. Its first school opened in 1907.
