The National Martyrs' Memorial (Bengali: জাতীয় স্মৃতিসৌধ, romanized: Jātīẏô Smr̥tisôudhô) is a national monument in Bangladesh. It was built to honour and remember those who died during the Bangladesh Liberation War The National Martyrs' Memorial serves as a place of remembrance and tribute to those who lost their lives during the Liberation War, ensuring that their sacrifices are not forgotten. (as well as the genocide) in 1971, which resulted in Bangladesh's independence from Pakistan.The architecture and landscaping are designed to evoke the resilience and struggle of the Bangladeshi people during the war. The monument is located in Savar, about 35 km northwest of the capital city, Dhaka. It was designed by Syed Mainul Hossain and built by Concord Group.
