Jim Carlin (born October 19, 1962) is an American attorney and politician who served as the Iowa State Senator from the 3rd district from 2017 to 2023. A member of the Republican Party, he won a special election against challenger Todd Wendt following the resignation of incumbent Bill Anderson. Carlin was a candidate for the Republican nomination in the 2022 United States Senate election in Iowa.
