John Rodney Bass II (born 1964) is an American diplomat, who served as the under secretary of state for management from 2021 to 2025. He was the United States ambassador to Afghanistan from 2017 to 2020, the United States ambassador to Turkey from 2014 to 2017 and the United States ambassador to Georgia from 2009 to 2012.
