It is owned by Louisiana Television Broadcasting alongside ABC affiliate WBRZ-TV (channel 2). The two stations share studios on Highland Road in Baton Rouge, where KBTR-CD's transmitter is also located.

While KBTR-CD is the station's official call sign, it uses WBTR for promotional purposes.
