Keezhattur is a village in Malappuram district in the state of Kerala, India. Poonthanam illam, the birthplace of "bhakthakavi" Poonthanam namboothiri, famous ancient Malayalam poet, is located here. The poonthanam illam is now a popular cultural centre.
