Kiezdeutsch (German pronunciation: [ˈkiːt͡sˌdɔɪ̯t͡ʃ] ⓘ) is a variety of German spoken primarily by youth in urban spaces in which a high percentage of the population is multilingual and has an immigration background. Since the 1990s, Kiezdeutsch has come into the public eye as a multiethnic language.
