Kosovar or Kosovan refers to the nationality of persons who hold citizenship in Kosovo, as it is a nationality term it is not tied to any particular ethnic group. However, in the Albanian language 'Kosovar' is often used for ethnic Albanians of Kosovo. While the majority of Kosovars are ethnic Albanians (92%), the country is home to other ethnic communities as well, including Serbs, Bosniaks, and others. Kosovar citizenship can be acquired through birth, naturalization, or other legal processes.
