La Ferté-sous-Jouarre (French: [la fɛʁte su ʒwaʁ] ⓘ) is a commune in the Seine-et-Marne département in the Île-de-France region in north-central France. It is located approximately 40 miles (64 km) east of Paris.
It is located at a crossing point over the river Marne between Meaux and Château-Thierry.
