La Samaritaine (French pronunciation: [la samaʁitɛn]) is a large department store in the first arrondissement of Paris; the nearest metro station is Pont-Neuf. Founded in 1870 by Ernest Cognacq, it is now owned by the luxury goods conglomerate LVMH.
