It is found in Southern Africa, ranging through South Africa's Cape Provinces, KwaZulu-Natal, and Northern Provinces to Eswatini and Mozambique. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry shrubland and plantations, particularly along the KwaZulu-Natal coast.
