Mark Robert Karpelès (born 1985) is a French businessman and the former CEO of bitcoin exchange Mt. Gox. While Mt. Gox became the world's largest bitcoin exchange at its peak under his management, the company would file for bankruptcy in 2014, and Karpelès was subsequently arrested and convicted of data manipulation related to his role there.
