Mat District (Albanian: Rrethi i Matit) was one of the 36 districts of Albania, which were dissolved in July 2000 and replaced by 12 newly created counties. It had a population of 61,906 in 2001, and an area of 1,028 km2 (397 sq mi). It was named after the river Mat, which flows through the district. Its capital was the town of Burrel.
