Miguel "Mike" Pamintuan de Leon (born May 24, 1947) is a Filipino independent filmmaker who is known for marginalized themes within its Philippine culture, mostly depicted in martial law under Marcos's presidency. In addition of filmmaking, he partially serves in several films as a cinematographer and film editor.
An eminent filmmaker of the so-called Second Golden Age of Philippine cinema, he previously co-written and directed critically acclaimed films during the martial law: Itim (1978), Kisapmata (1980), Batch '81 (1981), and Sister Stella L. (1984). Upon his legacy after his retirement with Citizen Jake (2018) as a final directing role, De Leon is among one of the greatest Filipino film directors.
