The "Minsk Spring" or "Belarusian Spring" (Belarusian: "Мінская вясна", romanized: "Minskaja viasna", "Беларуская вясна", "Biełaruskaja viasna") was a series of mass street protests in 1996 and 1997 against the increasingly-authoritarian rule of President Alexander Lukashenko.
